I have a meeting with the department chair to get my grade tomorrow afternoon so I finally listened to the whole recital again for the first time since that weekend. With the exception of “Little Sunflower” I’m actually happy and pleasantly surprised with how I performed. For some reason with Little Sunflower what should have been the easiest tune was actually the hardest to play well on and I think the group sounds kind of unfocused in sections. For the most part, I think this is a good representation of how I’m playing jazz at the moment. Good for student level but I still wouldn’t hire me.

Well, jazz so no one was going to hire you anyway.
Maybe not where you live. There isn’t a ton of work specifically but there is some to add to what I already do and just having the ability is important for higher level teaching.

I completely understand, you know I'm just yanking your chain. It sounds good to me. Around here this would be something you heard played while people are eating or something like that. Background music.
Unfortunately there is no “mix”. Just two mics suspended from the ceiling and then coMprrssed a bit by the digital format.
