Comic heroes are the modern equivalent of mythological heroes. Most often they can be broken down into gods mingling with mortals, or humans trying to be gods. Explorations of character flaws during heroic journeys.

Dismissing the value of the story based on it's pulp comic origins is the same as dismissing all animated features as "kids cartoons".
I moved on to Homer and the Greek myths in high school, but after that....the hero's journey is always pretty much the same old story with different decorations.
 
Given how poorly thought out Katy’s last tour was I’m not sure if that’s satire or the next big idea from the idiot who thought she should lip sync while doing wire fu and brandishing a sword.
 
I don’t get the fascination with comic book superheros by supposedly mature adult humans. I outgrew that shit by the time I was 12 or 13 years old. What the fk is wrong with people?
Most of us are still listening to the music we were into when we were 13, and have never matured into listening to jazz and classical like adults.
