How many tons do these couches weigh?

Not long after my wife and I got married, we bought a couch with recliners on each end. I hated moving that thing. It was in the apartment we rented, then the house we rented, then the house we bought, then the house we settled on 25ish years ago. It started in the living room but, started getting long in the tooth and was demoted to the family room. Family room is in sort of a basement, the halfway down in the ground of a tri-level. Popcorn ceiling and the walls were concrete block that are painted. Replaced the drywall on the ceiling and I added stud wall in front of block walls and drywalled that too. But first, I said goodby to our couch, it had a long life. Too long. Before I moved it out, I took a sawzall to it. It was a lot easier to move.

While I only bring 2 guitars and a minimal pedal board to our gigs.... I also am the singer... so I bring my amp, the mixer, the line arrays, the three wedge monitors, mics, some lights, and two boxes of cables.... so... um... yeah.

I got tired of carrying the Surfboard too.... so the bass player is in charge of that, and the big rug.
Christ, man! Do you own a box truck?

I need to get one. I used to carry everything in my 3 row SUV with both back rows folded down. Now days we have band practice and then divvy up the hardware between the drummer and bass player’s trucks and my car. I typically put the mixer in my trunk and guitar stuff in back seat, speakers in the drummer’s truck, etc.

Mine are lighter in weight than the old recliners that we had. I'm sure there are places where plastic and aluminum are used where the old ones were a steel frame. Some will say the old way is more durable... I would counter that with the old one creaked like a rusty Jeep door and I was always afraid that a cat was going to get smooshed in the contraption.... where the new ones just go brrrrrrrrrrrr..... and the cat just moves out of the way.
