Some people feel using a capo is cheating.
did that band use capos all the time ??
and i disagree with what "some people" feel.
there's plenty of songs that if you weren't using a capo, you'd need seven fingers and they'd need to be nine inches long :lol:

No idea if they ever used a capo. And someone here, Baimun?, uses one for instant alternate tuning. Still, that's the joke, whether it's fair or not, it's a dig that they are less talented. Not my joke, just trying to explain.
 
It comes up a lot on several forums and Facebook groups. I got one of the old school Hamilton caps shortly after getting my first guitar, so I never bought in to it.
me either. i have like 3 of them.
try playing "Here Comes the Sun", in the correct key, without one.......yea.....not so much.
