Remote start via the keyfob, or via a phone app? I think the phone app subscription is fairly common. My Hyundai came with 3 years free subscription, then a monthly fee after that. While I liked having the remote access to lock doors, start car, etc., I really didn't use it that often, so I didn't re-subscribe.

IMO, that is quite a bit different from sitting in your car and having a button on your dash disabled because you didn't subscribe to it. Disabling remote start via keyfob would be equally disappointing. :shrug:
