And mine thinks you have to ‘DO’ something or ‘GO’ somewhere.

I’m happy to go upstairs and take a nap.

I'm more of a do something vacationer. When the wife and I went to Cabo years ago the best day I had was the day I spent 3 hours on an America's Cup Yacht as a crew member (I paid for the honour ), worked/sweated my ass off while we raced another ACY (we won) and came back to the hotel exhausted. Coincidently my wife's best day was the same one since she spent the afternoon lounging by the pool drinking cocktails and ordering food without having to leave her lounge chair :thu:

See, to me that’s not vacation. That’s a trip. A trip with a purpose. That also happens to consume my vacation time.
I get that and I do those things too sometimes.

It sounds like semantics but I don’t feel that it is.

All of that doing stuff and going places takes a lot of work to plan and then execute, with schedules and deadlines (don’t miss the boat!).
Absolutely nothing wrong with that stuff, but it’s not vacation to me. It’s an intended experience.

I’m 2 days in to vacation. I’m at home. I’m loving it.
I am doing a few things around the house, but mostly stuff that I want to do and at my own pace….and just enough to keep my wife thinking I’m doing stuff.
We might do a day trip here and there, but nothing booked. The weather is going to suck for the next 4 or 5 days anyway. So, I’m glad I didn’t plan anything because I’m not stressing the weather.
