Knox Bass 3.0

Knox in Box

Rustbelt refugee.
So I pimped my beloved mutt Harley Benton bass again. Routing was just done freehand with a Dremel and could be better, but also could have gone a lot worse. Hey waddaya want with a bass I got for 40 bucks in an unusable state years back?

Got these pickups on eBay Classifieds for 35 bones salvaged from a Schechter. Bridge sounds growly on its own like a stingray, p bass is ceramic, 10k and sounds round and full. Together they compliment each other fantastically. I decided not to do could split on the bridge because I've never liked jazz bass bridge pickups anyways...

And no, I am taking no offers on the green paisley shirt. Just sit there and be jealous.

If you go around the edge of the Dremel route with a straight edge, and a thin black permanent-marker, drawing a few slight lines, you can effectively make the rough route edges visually disappear. Just a thought.

I'm not concerned about it really. This thing is lucky it's not in a landfill the way I bought it and had to make it usable.

It must be more concerning to me. I prefer easy cheats that make my workmanship look better than actual.

In the immortal words of Fernando years ago on SNL, "It is better to look good than to feel good."
