Keeping up with the Prages'

Mrs.P

The Wonder Wench
Just so you guys won't get worried. Prages is doing fine, he can't communicate with the outside world at this moment as he is in Court.

On the jury of course, at least this time.

So you guys must continue on without him. Sorry :helper:

So he didn't get kicked out yet?

Well, at least we have Mrs P!

I have gotten the summons probably 5 times and have never been picked to be a juror.

I wish he could have talked to you before going in, so he could at least know what to expect. I mean knowing your first hand experience and all.

I've had the same experience. Actually, in the 3 1/2 years I've lived in Massachusetts I haven't even been summoned. I guess they figure I need to live here longer to pass judgement on the natives.

I got out of serving because I went to high school with the DA. Apparently, that's grounds for never having to serve on a jury. I was kind of bummed too because they had some neat trials this time around

Yes, I sat on a jury for Federal case today.

It was a short trial, and it's already over, so I can talk about it.

The defendant was charged with possession of a firearm while being an illegal user of, or addicted to a controlled substance.

In this case, the controlled substance was marijuanna.

We heard both sides, and the jury deliberated for about an hour.

We all agreed that the defendant was probably guilty, but the prosecution didn't produce enough evidence to prove the drug part of the charge.

It was interesting. I'm still on the hook for jury duty until the end of March, but may not be called in for any other cases.
