Im thinking of playing a another game of Aaaahhhzzzzz

It takes time. Post things for trade on Craigslist or elsewhere. Do NOT post a price, post trade only. Then, trade for things that are worth similar amounts, but a bit more. For example - say an MIM Strat is currently selling used in the $250-$325 range. Get into one for $250. Post it for trade. People will make offers - eventually, one of the offers will be fopr something like a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe - something selling in the $325-$400 range. So, a fair trade, but the high end of the Strat's value and the low end of the HRD value. Then, post the HRD for trade. Wait for someone to offer something in the $375 - $475 range. Repeat until goal is achieved. I got from an MIM P-Bass to a PRS CE-22 that way, took about 4 or 5 months. Chihli got up to a Mesa Dual Rec with this technique - I forgot his starting point. I paid off most of my PRS SUnburst 22 starting with an MIM Strat - it would've been all, but I got a little unexpected cash that allowed me to pay the rest early :).

The recto was a bit of a fluke. Someone wanted my 5150 pretty bad and we traded even for it. I told him that he wasnt getting a good deal, he didnt care. I certainly wasnt going to complain.

The next series I did was methodical and step by step, and I enjoyed a lot of cool gear while doing it. Started with an Epi LP, to a strat, to a tele, to a mesa amp, to a randall amp, then sold the randall for cash and bought my mrak.
