I'm having curry for lunch...

When I eat curry, my "R" sound changes to a “flap sound.” My “V” and “W” start to sound the same. My “Th” sound more like “T” or “D.” My “P” “T” and “K” sounds tend to become unaspirated. My vowel sounds get a bit muddled as well.

Should you be worried if this happens? No. Curry is delicious! It’s totally worth it and temporary. :baimun:

There’s never a wrong time for curry. I have a recipe I like to make just because it involves tossing a bunch of crushed fresh curry leaves into hot oil and it makes the entire house smell like curry. Fucking wonderful smell, that.

In my early 20s I worked in a restaurant and one of the dishwashers was Zafar from Pakistan. I love hot food, but when he would cook his curry chicken it was absolutely perfectly done and one of the very hottest/burning things I have ever eaten. Even the smell of it being cooked was difficult to tolerate without the mucosae getting a bit swollen. Delicious but painful!

Fwiw, curry essentially is just gravy made with spices served with meat, seafood, tofu or just vegetables & it doesn't have to be hot spicy at all, like butter chicken for example.

I do like, and make, my curries pretty hot in general but one of my all time favorites is a local restaurant's Malay-style curry that is not spicy at all but flat out awesome. Curry, little bit of rice, and some roti is a go-to at my house.

A decent curry is a thing of joy. If you have a sensitive stomach limit the spice level, but you should still enjoy when it isbaboutvthe taste.
