Fwiw, curry essentially is just gravy made with spices served with meat, seafood, tofu or just vegetables & it doesn't have to be hot spicy at all, like butter chicken for example.
I do like, and make, my curries pretty hot in general but one of my all time favorites is a local restaurant's Malay-style curry that is not spicy at all but flat out awesome. Curry, little bit of rice, and some roti is a go-to at my house.
