It’s crazy... I’ve owned the 50 mki, 100 combo mki, head mkii twice and the mini 3 times... this is the happiest I’ve been with my tone with it.

I don't know if it's because I've gotten better at tweaking the amp. I've always hated tweaking. But damn, this thing is a beast!!!!

Anyone else rocking a Katana? which do you have?
 
Son has the 50 ii. He's very happy with it. I was kind of pissed when I found out that the 50 can't use the GA-FC foot controller. Wished I went for the 100, now from what you are saying, I guess I lucked out.
 
I have the 50 mki but I gave it to my son that got a mini strat for Christmas so I didn't shell out for an amp when he inevitably gets bored.
I like it and like what it can do but I almost always play through my Headrush Gigboard and FRFR108 because I don't have to be linked to a computer to get new tones, I just build them on the touchscreen.
 
I grok what you're saying. I sort of use my POD Go for what you're doing with the Boss. All my other amps are very limited (i.e. I like the toanz, each one has a basic palette, 6v6, EL84, etc.) but the POD lets me visit anywhere I choose. I think that, in essence, the Boss is simply a mult-effects/amp sim pedal in a cabinet with an amplifier and speaker.

awesome. Tone studio is a must!!! I came across these global eq settings and the amp came alive. I don’t have the bass as cranked as this because it’s slightly boomy. But try this out.

It arrived today
After only an hour messing with it it's a keeper.
I only played with the clean,and crunch channel.
Very nice tones.
I'll get a chance in a few days to spend time with it.
I haz a happy.
