I've got a reasonable grasp of theory, but not a ton of jazz background, and I can not figure out a way to get into the kind of rhythm guitar where you're changing chords/voicings/positions every beat. I don't have the ear to transcribe extended voicings, and I can't find an explanation for what's going on. Is it improvised? Is it preplanned? Is there a book I can get?
