Dexter Inferno

Serious error
Initially got it as a modding project. Spent an hour with it, setting it up properly. And to be honest I easily could have done a gig with it tonight if I wanted to. Those aren't bad guitars.

But if they'd done a proper setup on them they wouldn't lose out as much as they are to brands like Jet, Harley Benton and the likes. Crap nut, loose tuners, loose truss rod and a trem not properly set up.

I tightened the tuners, lubed the nut, adjusted truss rod, pickup height and trem and then it played really well without any mods yet.

Intonation was surprisingly good. And frets look decent. Fretboard is as dry as a 70 year old's minge though...

What really annoys me is how easy it should be for them to fix stuff like that. Or the stores selling the guitars. Because they're really not bad instruments.

With a few mods this could be a very decent backup guitar.

HNGD!

Cheap guitars can be real gems.
Expensive guitars can be real turds.

I think the only concern about a gem of cheap guitar is how long the hardware will hold up.
I’m not saying it won’t. I’m just saying that’s all I’d really be concerned about on an otherwise gem of a guitar. Even then, I’m not going to let it stop me from enjoying it.
