Gretsch G6120 will get a mild facelift

After buying my Gretsch G6120-LSB in 2015, I have used it only a few times at jams at one gig. I have learned a lot about 2 - Gretsch's but as always not enough.

The biggest issue I have at the moment with the G6120 is the Bigsby. Because of the standard tune-a-matic bridge that it came with, it goes out of tune even with 11's on the guitar. So I had to refrain from using the Bigsby. In a previous thread, I commented the following:

"Hmm I have thought about changing the spring on my Bigsby on my Gretsch but I have to replace my bridge to a roller type first and possibly the nut to a Tusc. Tension is not a concern vs keeping the ax in tune at this time."

Well just ordered a roller bridge off of Reverb.com and I look forward this first fix. I am hoping that this will be the on fix that I need to keep this great guitar in tune.

The next thing should I have to mod will be to replace the nut. The new one will be made of Tusc.

I don't remember what they had on my reverend but the Bigsby on that guitar stayed in tune really well.

IIRC it was just a TOM bridge (non-roller) & graphite nut w/ the pinlock tuners

edit: correction, it was a roller bridge. I just went back and looked at a pic of mine

I remember Reverend1 saying that the only way to go is with the roller bridges. FWI recall, Reverend guitars come with Roller bridges.

This is why I've never taken the plunge with a gretsch type guitar. I have a feeeling the bridge and bigsby would be a never ending source of frustration for me.

They're such gorgeous guitars tho...
