Graphic guitars-Do you like them?

Grave Bomber

Ghoulish Anomaly
I do. I know it's not the 80's, and that most of them made were from the 80's, and VERY 80's, but I still can't help by generally like them. You know the type, the ever popular "lighting sky", polka dots, Nagel prints...the common Jackson/Kramer/BC Rich stuff.

My requirement though is that it's actually airbrushed. I don't dig the modern graphic stuff where they print vinyl and stick it on, that's lame.

I'm not a fan anymore although if I were the kind of guy who was doing big tours and needed "road guitars" it might be kinda fun.

Examples-Awesome, or terrible?

I'm not much of a fan. I do have a Japanese Jackson Dinky in Orange Hot Rod flames. It is a really great player. I got it really cheap on a MF closeout years ago (I think 299 or so). My son picked it out as it looks like Hot Wheels car stuff.

They were supposedly hand painted and signed by the artist, unlike the other import graphic models that were decals. Anyway, this is as close as I have, and I get that to some people flames are not really 'graphics'.

Some of my bro in law's

He did this one too, but doesn't own it anymore, it belongs to me.

Just got a Hamer Standard, looking at it, I think, why doesn't this have a checkerboard on it.

Those were indeed hand painted, I remember those well, sold for $499. Cool guitar. I lusted after that for a while.

Yeah, it is a lot of guitar for 499, and a steal at 299. The thing has a decent floyd rose (although no where as good as an OFR), nice pickups (duncan designed, but they sound good to me), a bound neck, fancy paint, and really great fretwork. Hard to believe they could make these in Japan, hand paint them, and make money on them.

Pre Fender MIJ Jacksons were without a doubt the best bang for the buck in quality workmanship and decent hardware in my eyes. They really were a steal

^The pinnacle of all over the top guitars. Dream guitar for me. Amazing work. In fact, the halloween tele i'm doing had a faux version of that inlay. To have that done the right way again...that's literally a 5K+ guitar.
