I also heard it when it aired and I was struck by how kind of pointless the whole interview was. It seemed more like a commercial
 
They are the equivalent of the Harley-Davidson.
I think this hits the nail on the head. They started selling a lifestyle instead of selling a product. I'm sure it's made them a lot of money but it made me lose interest altogether in Gibson guitars. I mean absolutely no disrespect to anyone that likes Gibson guitars, but if I were gonna go for a LP/Gibson style guitar I'd probably buy an Edwards, a Greco, A Burny, or a Bacchus at this point.
