Heard an interview with the author of that “study” on NPR last night. He has stirred up a bees nest. People are definitely opinionated when it comes to French fries. Even the mayor of LA has chimed in.

3/4s of those chain don't have anything by me so can't say much about who is better, never tried most of them. Wendy's and Burger King are horrible. I like Arbys curly fries and McDonalds. My wife is still afraid of Mad Cow disease. Only beef she eats is organic grassfed or, as I like to call it bad. She has not there since. But Bob, they have chicken sandwiches there. Yes they do but, they add beef flavoring to their fries. She found out because Muslims were unhappy about it.

While I am not a hater of Steak and Shake, their fries are brutal.

I agree that 5 Guys' and McDonalds' fries rock (when they're fresh of course) and In-N-Out's are disappointing. Most of the stuff in the middle I haven't tried, at least not recently.
The other cool thing about 5 Guys is that if you just buy one order of fries, they give you about a pound of extra ones. Nobody goes home hungry.

If we had all of those near me, I'd be game for that. I've never had Del Taco or In-N-Out and the last Jack in the Box closed around the time I went into elementary school. I will be eating some Whataburger when I head to my brother's wedding in March. I'm not sure it will be lunch or dinner though, but I will stop by for the honey-butter chicken biscuit for breakfast.
