Well, what do you guys think? I know I would love one. Jason Isbell has one and from what I have heard of it, it sounds awesome. From what I have read, the metal bodied one has been discontinued and replaced with a wood bodied model the creator prefers.

Aren’t resonator guitars for playing slide anyway?

Yes and no. They were developed to increase the volume of an acoustic guitar back in the days before electric guitars / amps. I have a Dobro, and about half the time I play with a slide, half without. The Dobrato also has a B-Bender, so between the Bigsby, B-Bender and slide/fingers, it's pretty versatile. A slide will not add shimmer to open strings. There are some youTube videos showing what the Dobrato can do.

I'm just saying that JI and DG are sacred to many here, so they are great endorsements.
