Question: crack kills... or does it? you decide.

Manufacturer's defect, shipping accident, seller knew it and "forgot" to mention it?

Yeah, man.....I'm not feeling the love on this one.

I say return it. It's not like there aren't 10 million OTHER acoustic guitars out there to choose from.

Fucking internet sales. Cars and instruments....caveat emptor, I guess.

Personally, based on the seller's lack of "Oh, I forgot to mention that.....", I would blacklist him forever. That's bullshit, dude.

Fixable or not, no fucking way.

Acoustic guitars really are a dime a dozen....go get one you want.

It will all work out. I broke my rule of "no buying an acoustic sight unseen" and this is my cosmic reminder.

The guy just relisted the guitar on Reverb. Its in the "price drop" section. He still doesn't disclose the crack. Instead he writes: no scratches or nicks. Very clean! More info upon request.

This guy is just asking for trouble IMO...

Is that a crack through the binding, or the joint where the ends of the sound hole binding meet? If it was a less expensive guitar, I'd say for a hundred dollars, I think I'd keep it, glue a cleat across it and be done. It looks as though it could be easily filled and forgotten.
But, it's a Gibson. I think I'd send it back and look for a perfect one.

The crack was through the binding and was jagged so its unlikely due to center seam separation. The seller was ademant it was seam separation and wouldn't acknowledge that it was a crack.
