Completely irrelevant at this time but I never forgave Rod Stewart for "going Disco"...

It’s amazing that Rod Stewart’s disco work was so fucking horrible that it’s still killing people in the year 2026. He’s the human version of E. coli outbreaks in lettuce.

Does anyone else remember the TV commercial for his new album at the time, maybe the one with “Tonight’s the Night?” Late 70s? It was a big pair of lips, like from Rocky Horror Picture Show, saying, “Hiiiiiii. I’m Roood Steeeewart.”

So yeah, I’m also scarred by his disco period.

<edit> can’t find it, damn you YouTube! There’s another one with multiple lips but that’s not the one.

I rest my case
Do we get to keep the kicking up dirt, train track duck walk as evidence?
While this might not be the greatest rock n' roll song ever, there are none better.
The video was filmed in the farming community of Piru California.

There's a lot of classic rock acts with decent forays into disco. It's wild that Rod's are pretty bad, since his Faces, Jeff Beck Group, and early solo stuff are so great.

Rod had (has?) a great voice for bluesy rock n roll. It was indeed disappointing to see him do the disco thing after all the great work with Jeff Beck Group and Faces. But he left that behind and did the disco thing, then the crooner thing, and now he's back with Faces. I hope their new release isn't too disappointing. Maybe they'll cover Hot Legs.

This was done long before MTV was a thing. This was one of the very early music videos when bands were just starting to experiment with that medium.

...and who knew Sam Kinison played guitar for Rod Stewart?!

They filmed this video 20 minutes down the highway in another agricultural community. Oxnard Ca.
7 years later, It doesn't seem more modern than Hot Legs. Jeff's guitar playing is sublime on this Curtis Mayfield cover:

The Nard. Home of the punk rock movement 'Nardcore'.
