The Ashlee US is part of the American Girl Series. Located in Statesboro, GA, Chris Mitchell Guitars strives on building a world class guitar at a fraction of the price you’d expect. With state of the art CNC and computer aided design, CMG are able to produce a precise guitar in a fraction of the time it would take using only conventional methods.

You’ll love this American girl! She’s outfitted with features that keep her natural beauty and simple features you’ll wonder how you ever lived without. The pickup configuration is complimented by a treble bleed in the wiring harness. A treble bleed allows you to turn the volume down without losing the tone you get from conventional volume pots. Speaking of volume, there’s only one of this baby! We’ve never saw the need for two volumes and two tone knobs so we got rid of them–keeping the design simple and easier to use. Have you ever been on stage and turned the wrong volume down at the wrong time? Yep. We have too. Not anymore. We’re removing the variable. You’ll also notice that the toggle is in a much easier to reach place. It also won’t get in your way when you’re tapping away like Eddie….

In the design the American Ashlee, CMG decided to complete the design with a slim waistline. That way, the guitar gets brought in closer to the player and the player feels more comfortable with the instrument.

Other features include the “E” Bend Cut, 18:1 Grover tuners, and natural “masked” binding.

This CMG Ashlee US Custom has a Western Tolex over Maple top with real 12 gauge shotgun shell knobs and outfitted with DiMarzio PAF 36 Anniversary pickups.

I like this one even more than the one with the stripe. And I liked that one a LOT.

I'm not sure I'd like how a guitar wrapped in Tolex will sound but I love the idea that he is doing these things at a decent price point and still using good hardware and pickups.

Yeah, my comment is based solely on aesthetics. I'd have to play something like this before I could make a call. Agreed on the price though.

I dig the 12 GA knobs.
While it isn't something I'd buy, I can appreciate it, being a fucking Texas redneck and all.

Needs belt buckle relicing on the back.

Yeah, the price point has me wondering where they're being made. I mean this should be a viable price point for a quality U.S. built guitar, even from a small shop in my mind, but companies like Deusenberg are charging this and a lot more for Korean built guitars. Great guitar from everything I understand, the price point is kind of outrageous considering the CoO.

I prefer the cutting board aesthetic, but would think this body might sound better, not factoring the glue and tolex covered top.

Awesome guitar, awesome price.

I don't think the tolex would affect the tone as much as you might expect.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but I really really, really like that.
and the cream pup rings look really nice against the tolex.
if I had the cash and saw that in a store, I'd probably buy it without even trying it. :embarrassed:

When I first saw it, I thought yikes, but after looking at it for a bit, I like it.
