Chicagoland Weiners

He really sold it last night, I was getting tired just watching him jump all over the stage flinging kick drums all over the place.
Yeah. He's a really good player and a really good showman. I find it comical that he barely speaks English. He was just using terms from American blues songs that he strung together. He doesn't understand those strings of words. Really nice guy. I have a full recording of his show. He will probably edit and post it to his YT channel. And he manages to get a pretty big crowd when he plays at home.

The second band was just too loud. I stayed for a few songs of your set. But I had to get going. I had to drop him off in Pilsen and then get home. As it was, I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30 AM. I'm just not used to that. And I had to be up at 7 to drive into the city to run a support group meeting. I just woke up from an hour nap.

Big thanks to punk kitty and Big Peen for making it out last night!

It was a fun night, not our best show but that will happen.

When we got there they told us we had to put our gear in the garage behind the club:

So instead of getting upset I promptly filled our dressing room with hot babes and busted out the weed pipes.

Not sure what time we went on but it wasn’t 10 pm. Cranked out a ten song 45 minute set that seemed like it went by really quick. The club is small so it’s a vocal only PA, sound on the tiny stage was good. Once I got set up I played a lush G#maj6addmi13 chord and the sound guy said “you need to turn down a little.” I pretended to because in my opinion a 30 watt amp turned halfway up isn’t too loud.

The only bummer about the night was at the end of the night when they handed me an envelope that I thought would be stuffed with cash because we drew pretty well, by my estimate we had at least ten people pay the $15 coverI’m not and never have been in it for the money. If the path you choose is playing all original music you are not going to get paid much.

However I was mildly insulted and a little sad when I opened the envelope and pulled out our $30. But it was still a really fun evening of rock and roll.
Sounds like a great night. Is that an Aperol Spritz? Hell yeah!

I got 30 bucks and 2 free drinks for my most recent gig, so I feel you. I did not feel remotely guilty ordering a Long Island Iced Tea.
