Chicago Stompworks...cool or uncool?

Honkridge

UNACCEPTABLE!
I don't have a problem with cheap clones. I've got a BYOC chorus that is nearly 15 years old and it still sounds great. I've replaced the footswitch a time or two though. Just wondering if anyone has experience with Chicago Stompworks. Pretty accurate clones? Durable? that stuff

I don't remember ever seeing any for sale on Chicago South craigslist so, if anybody does buy them, it seams they keep them. Of course it's possible they are so bad, people are embarrassed to admit they bought them.

I have a Chicago Stompworks Grey Spec. It’s just a solid DOD 250 clone. The urban legend of the grey 250 circuit is a myth. The case was different. The circuit was the same.

I bought my Grey Spec on sale. I think I paid something like $60 delivered. It sounds great and I like the small size. At the time I bought it, JHS was hyping their version of a DOD 250, but it was large and more expensive, so I bought the Grey Spec instead.

I had their Rat clone ("Mr. Vermin") and it was great. I gifted it to my friend's kid to help him build his first pedalboard and then kinda wished I hadn't... I wouldn't hesitate to get another of their pedals based on my experience with that one.
