I’m excited to share some news with the world! I have decided step back from the day to day operations of Gibson to launch a new business - more about this in the future.

I am not leaving Gibson! I am a shareholder and will remain on the Board of Directors AND actively involved as Gibson global artist ambassador in partnership with our Gibson Cultural Impact and Artist Relations team. I am simply stepping down from the day to day as of the end of July to focus on what I love the most: working with our artist community.

Gibson is part of my DNA. It has been the honor of my life to help lead Gibson and to work alongside the people who bring this company to life every day. I hope to have left a legacy that will be remembered as a progressive era in Gibson’s history.
I hope I’ve made Orville proud.

From the sidelines he seemed to a be a very capable steward to lead the company out of the post-Henry J and that other guy era, focused on the instruments & the artists. Gibson endorsers seems to have really high praise on what he as done for the brand with artists. Hopefully they can find another CEO that keeps the instruments and their loyal fans in mind as they lead the company forwards.

Newsflash: “Bud” Cole announced as new Gibson CEO as Gibson and Fender merge and turn their sights on developing AI legal tools for the IP law sector.

You referring to that stupid Hey Dude shoe thing? It still seems beyond strange... but in today's CEO/board/shareholder environment it doesn't surprise me how many executives give zero shits about their products, the workers, or the customers.... they just want to see green and black. :annoyed:

Gibson went from a bankrupt company with a soiled reputation to regaining its place as an industry leader in under a decade. That’s an incredible business story. I know that Gueikian is far from the only person responsible for it, but he deserves accolades and applause for his part in it.

I’m just glad Gibson put some attention and QC back into its standard lines. Not everybody can or wants to afford the Murphy Lab custom shop stuff but they expect a well made guitar for the money.

You know our CEO?!

Not to derail this thread, but that's exactly what happened to my company. Our previous CEO was a co-founder of the company in the 80s and had build an incredible workplace. We got bought by a larger company about 8 yrs ago and he managed to hold off their BS until he retired and passed away about 3 years ago. We've been losing talent like crazy, along with declining benefits and generaly becoming a shitty place to be. I have 2 yrs to retirement and have developed a real short-timer attitude.
