Boss GX-1B synth

I was looking for a bass synth to play with and realized that the Boss GX-1B multi effects unit has a synth mode. It’s only $229 which is cheaper than a synth pedal that does basic saw/square stuff. But I cannot find a demo video of the synth mode. Has anybody played with it? I don’t need it to be on par with an expensive dedicated bass synth. I just need it to sound good and track well.

On a related note, this unit runs on a standard 9.6 volt boss power supply. Is that the same as the 9 volts output by every power supply with isolated outputs for pedals?

Nevermind. I did some more tracking and found a post on another forum by someone who has this unit and says that it sounds good and the synths well.

It's just 9 volts even. Don't know where you found 9.6 volts but wrong. So, yes any normal power supply will work. Also, it needs at least 250 ma. The boss power supply puts out 500ma

I ended up buying the Boss power supply to avoid headaches caused by the Joyo power supplies I use for analog pedals. I really don’t want to spend a couple hours trying to figure out where weird noise is coming from.
