Baby bunny trapped in the window well jam

I can send Sonny over...he'll flush it out.....

In all seriousness though I like bunnies. They are cute critter but they drive Sonny bonkers and he goes full primal. We have a buncha bunnies in the neighborhood. We got one at work too. I can't see a bunny without thinking Watership Down

A bunny was in my yard the other day. I shot him (with my camera).

We have a number of bunnies in our yard. We saw some when we first moved in 14 years ago, then didn't really see them again until this year.

Good luck with the rescue.

Best way to grab them. hold down the top with one hand (left is best), then put the other hand underneath him/her and lift that way. Since it is a wild bunny leather gloves might be a good idea. I've picked up way more than a few rabbit before.....

Well it was just a baby so we put some lettuce in the net, asked nicely and he hopped right in. Released over by the hostas.

Didnt chew a hole in my net like the last one, so thats cool

Left some carrots and water out in case of PTSD

Just saw a bun under a hedge I trimmed lounging like a dog with it's hind legs sticking out at like a 45 degree angle. Don't know if I've ever seen that. Thought it might have been sick or suffering from the wet heat but it hopped away when I came closer. Most commonly sighted land critter at the mansion.

We put seed down on a board in the yard. We have one squirrel that will lay flat on his stomach with his legs splayed out to either side. At first I thought maybe it had broken legs but it seems to be fine.

No rabbits in NorCal (at least where we are), and the jackrabbits are passing rare these days.

That I have never seen. Usually scurrying around doing nut business or chasing each other around a tree like a cartoon.

Really? They are all over the place around here....little ones not bigger ones like we see up in Washington where they are also all over the place. The dogs try to chase them but have no chance. My dog is getting old and has pretty much given up chasing them. Coyotes might get some of them but I think they are more after the cats (and cat food)

Bunny numbers are escalating in my neighborhood. The coyotes, hawks, and mountain lions don’t come here so there’s nothing to get the population down. I have no idea what they’re eating.

Down in the valley, with all the paving and building, there just isn't any room for jackrabbits anymore, except in some of the bayland preserves.

Well sure down near the bay but I've seen them in West San Jose as well as here in Cupertino and Saratoga. But they aren't jackrabbits they are quite small brown and grey bunnies

We have some babies and mom (we think) visit our yard pretty much every day.

We had some in a window well some years back. We scooped them out with gloves on and sent them their way.

We had kittens in a window well one year as well. Scooped them out and realized mom was watching. Freaked me out, but all went well. We went to check on them less than an hour later and they were gone.

I tried a board in the window well last night for self-rescue but it rained and/or was too steep.

Baby bunny did use it for shelter in the thunderstorm overnight tho

Those are brush or desert rabbits. I think you mostly find them pretty close to the mountains - the only places I've seen them are places like Rancho San Antonio - never in the flats.
