Arcade Fire on SNL

I didn't read the article, but I saw them last night. I thought their singer's voice was nearly unbearable.

I like those guys. I think there is a lot of cool new stuff coming out these days. Encourages me about music. The SNL performance vocal was not their best, but it seems like a lot of SNL performances suffer a bit for some reason. Been that way for years.

Meh!

Weird mixes. They sound way better on the album.
I'm surprised they were a guest (for the the second time)
It just seems like SNL goes with bigger acts.
Maybe I'm underestimating how big they are. But it's cool to see Bands like them on TV.

They just seem akward outside of their normal rock concert setting.

Cool stuff

I liked that version of Sprawl II, but I think it's partly because the performance was visually striking. Overall, I thought that the performances were solid enough for late night teevee.

I do believe that Arcade Fire are one of the "bigger" bands out there, not that that counts for anything now that everyone steals music and mostly listens to their Xbox bleeps and bloops.

Sprawl II sounded a LOT better than We Used To Wait.

I still don't have the album yet, so I don't know how they compare. TV mixes sounded pretty hollow, though.

First song sounded like a 4 1/2 minute intro, the girls voice made the second song nigh unlistenable. That is a band that people keep insisting I should really like, but they are just so dull. I went so far as to buy one of their albums a couple of years back, but their songs never go anywhere or do anything. They just plod along for the requisite amount of time and then end because even the band is bored by that point.

Pretty much this. I didn't (and never will) get an album of theirs though. :embarrassed:

Unbelievably boring.

I used to find Funeral really dull and "boring" when it came out.

Something changed in me, and now they are definitely one of my fav bands.

I'm not a fan of Funeral or Neon Bible. For some reason this latest record "clicked" with me. Who knows.

You know those overdubbed videos.... with the horrible playing... but ozzy still clapping or whatever...... That video would be great like that. The singer Ooohing... and ahhing... and then clapping....

... with the out of tune guitars.... and screetchy violins....
