Anyone use a straight cut razor?

The trick with a DE safety razor is to let the weight of the razor do the work - don’t add pressure. Also, one-two strokes max before you rinse it off. When I first started using one, I cut myself all the time, but never do now.

Oh - and for the love of god - don’t be in a hurry!

So after a bit of eBay nonsense I finally got a full shaving set and have been enjoying shaving with the safety razor.

It's quite nice and theraputic

Don't forget to buy a styptic pencil for those times that you do get a little cut.

The thing about the practice is to get the angle right.

I rarely shave. Every now and then I’ll shave under my chin to clean up my beard. I’ve got a Harry’s razor for that.

I have one, my Grandpa brought it back from Germany in 1946. He used it often (he was a barber) and I can still see him sharpening it on the leather strop that hung from his barber chair. It's still extremely sharp, and I've never been brave enough to put it anywhere close to my face, neck or anywhere else.
