I don’t get the Paul Gilbert love. I don’t necessarily have a problem with wankery, but I do have a problem with boring. His playing is the musical equivalent of an overlong Abe Simpson monologue on cocaine.

I understand, and I think even he might admit that. That said, I enjoy a lot of his songs, particularly from his vast solo catalog. Sure, many of the solo's are wankery, but some of the songs are really good.
