No more leap seconds

[GomezAddams]

Well this is interesting: the world's time nerds are ending leap seconds. The reason is a bit surprising - there'd need to be a negative leap second in 2029 that could potentially wreak havoc on modern computer systems.

Scientists just voted to redefine how the world keeps time

A new system, called the “leap hour,” will allow Earth’s rotation and official time to fall out of alignment by a full hour

Now just do the same with DST.

I’d like clocks left as they are now and stop the switching back and forth.

Most of Arizona does not observe DST. I lived in an area of AZ that never switched. I found it was better that way for me.

Dang, I always looked forward to those.

I’ll be up all night thinking about lost leap seconds. The horror.

I attended a USAF training school in Tucson, AZ for 9 weeks in 86. I really like that area and put in for it when I got done with that 18 month assignment. They thought Rapid City, South Dakota was a better fit for me.

Good. It takes me days to adjust to the “ new” time
