Exciting!

I decided to spring for a fancy pop filter. For years I was using a "ghetto filter."

Nice. I have one that didn't come with a gooseneck. I have it on a straight stand and use a boom stand for the mic.

BTW, the first thing that came to my mind was Happy New Personal Flotation Device.

The gooseneck was $3 more. They also have a deal that you get two of them for $4 more.

Plus, I'm a pretty good swimmer so unless I'm water skiing or tubing I don't need a flotation device. :cheese:

Or panty hose and a coat hanger. I believe that's known as the back alley abortion pop filter.

I mad a pop filter for Prages out of an embroidery hoop and some light material. Then we got fancy and bought him a real one, that looks almost exactly like an embroidery hoop with some light material in it. Much like yours does too. Hmm.

Shhhhhh.

No one is supposed to know that.

Yeah, the embroidery hoop thing works great if you happen to have one and a broken mic clip laying around.

I used it for several years because I refused to pay $30 for a pop filter. Eventually I started seeing them for under $20, so I bought one then.

The clip and the gooseneck are the appealing factors.

For all I know I could be doing a recording session with a dwarf this weekend and a homemade one might not work.
