Please continue to feul my GAS, need rawk machine for around $500

Are you ignoring my imported snorkel suggestions? :annoyed:

No sir! I like 'em. I have played several though and I'm just not sure how much I like the necks. They are definately on my short list though. I really like the korina one.

Whats wrong with a strat? As far as im concerned, the strat body is as comfortable as a guitar gets.

I'd prolly get a MIM fat strat if it was me.

All of the bands he is talking about use mahogany bodied guitars which contributes to a darker beefier sound. They don't make mahogany Strats.

**waits for Howie to disagree and then post pictures of a custom made $8k mahogany Strat**

I likey Explorers.

Phil, I'm just not a strat guy. No real reason, just personal preference.

A quick google confirms they did make them but wouldn't that shape be a pain to play sitting down too?

i can get with everything except the 3 single coils. which is why i mentioned replacing them.

if i were buying an HH guitar for $500, i'd seriously consider a used Reverend Roundhouse HB. i don't like the HH teles because they come with the oversized pickups that sound terrible. i'd also consider Ibanez, PRS SE, and and LTD.

I dont think so, why do you think it would be? The huge back wing might get in the way of my arm? Crap, I obviously need to go play one.

Why not a Volcano, huh? WHY NOT A VOLCANO!!!!????

I would lean more towards spending $600 for a faded Gibson then spend less on stuff like the Xavier. I am scarred by my experiences with SX and Squire guitars I think.

They're easy to play sitting down, & the back wing does not get in the way. The shape is great for the picking hand, nothing to get in the way, drop your palm on the strings & chugga chugga. Be warned, you'll keep slinging it lower & lower, they get better the lower you wear them.
