REM Band update:
1. I got a Fender Rumble Stage 800 ($900) because it has a "Dual Showman" head + cab model and that's what Mike Mills played through in the early days. Using it with my Ric I am able to get much much closer to his early REM tone than I was with the Mesa / BassRig setup (even though it sounded good). The band all agreed they said "wow that sounds super accurate, you are a cool and funny person" so that was nice. Plus now I can leave this rig at rehearsal and don't have to shuttle my Mesa head and pedalboard back and forth (it has onboard effects too)...
But then yesterday I saw a 2016 Jetglo 4003 on Dave's for a real good price in excellent shape and I was like hmmm, my fireglo 4003s is more McCartney than Mills visually... he played a Jetglo (black) 4001... sooo I got it!
It will arrive Friday... I think I am going to put the flatwounds back on the 4003s (i switched them for rounds when I joined the REM band). Anyways it will arrive tomorrow, weeeee!
