Who Has Used Sweetwater Gear Exchange To Sell?

Did you like selling gear there? Did you also list the same gear simultaneous on Reverb or another platform?

I'm trying to psych myself up for a big gear purge. Long ago, I sold a fair amount on eBay. I had mostly good experiences from people around the world. Even when a guy tried to rip me off from Norway, it ended well.

Should I try selling more local, Craigslist, etc? Any selling advice will be greatly appreciated. I need to get back out there and sell, sell, sell!!!

I didn’t even know that was a thing.
When I recently purged the guitar collection, I just took everything to my local GC. They wrote me a check, and I was on my way.

If my reading comprehension is solid, you keep 100% of your selling price on the Sweetwater Gear Exchange if you use it as in store credit. Otherwise, they charge a 5% seller fee and a 2.5% transaction fee. The 7.5% combined fee is lower than it would cost to sell on Reverb.

Thank you for reminding me of them.... their fees are much more reasonable than Reverb's... they just don't have the same eyeballs.

I sold all of my old rack gear to them... because I was able to drive to Sweetwater and sell them everything and not worry about finding boxes and shipping the gear. Then turned around and used the credit to buy my PRS hollowbody. :baimun:

Like a parallel universe to MWGL?

Hahaha.... no, like when you post something locally and have 50-100 musicians looking at it... Reverb has thousands of people browsing... Sweetwater Gear Exchange prob splits the difference, so you can list in both depending on how quickly you want to move the gear. :baimun:

I thought that maybe a sound strategy would be to list an item for a slightly higher price on Reverb vs a slightly lower price on Sweetwater.
