which brand/style of canned sardines do you buy

I haven't bought any in 30+ years. Liked them some as a teen, just never really craved them since. They still used a key when I would buy them in the '80s.

Ancient knowledge. Only place I've seen that done is on Steve1989's old ration channel on youtube.

I remember the sardines cans with the key, I probably peeled one or two in my day ...I know for certain I've done the key on Spam.

For sardines I haven't bought any for a while but I think one used to be called Beach something or other
and then those ones in the fancy can , from spain i think.

I have never eaten a sardine (as far as I know). I bought some once to feed to a sick cat who had gone off his food, and he wouldn't eat them either. Nor did the healthy cat, so I tossed them in the trash. (The sardines, not the cats.) And that's the full extent of my experience with sardines.

I should probably gain more experience with sardines so I can put that on my resume.

My most memorable sarding eating experience was with my old dog Callie in Colorado. I had driven from Silverton, CO up to some mountains near Crested Butte and it was sprinkling and I pulled off into a clearing by a stream . I grabbed a beer , a can of sardines and some crackers and I had lunch. It was nice. Big meaty sardines in olive oil

The only contact I've had with sardines has been out of a bait tank on a deep sea fishing boat. They were live. Idk what brand.

My dad used to eat sardines from a can on top of Saltine crackers. I may have to try that. I'm not familiar with any style or brand.

I generally get the plain ones but have on occasion gotten ones in mustard or pepper or hot sauce. Quality varies widely between brands - caveat emptor. I find that King Oscar tends to put out a good product.

I don't think I'd had any until a couple years ago. Figured they would be a easy fix for somebody who barely eats meat. Have a can of these shown in the vid I'm excited to try.

there are no sardines in cookieville.

King catches a good sardine. I bought Brunswick once and it was definitely inferior.

I buy the ones that have anchovies instead of sardines in them.

Anchovies were too powerful for me the one time I tried them but I may not have been ready at that point. Bigger savory salt bomb than marmite.

when I said "fancy can" in my first post those are the ones I was referring to. The Callie Colorado sardines were beach cliff or whatever that "Beach" brand is
