Weekend Wrapup

Didn't see a new thread, so thought I'd take the bull by the horns.

Had a very fun, very busy weekend. I went to Hong Kong for a music festival and saw 2 absolutely fantastic sets from Suede and St Vincent. Both acts were in 'top of their game' mode. I didn't realize just quite how 'full-on rock star' Brett Anderson from Suede would be: running and jumping off the monitors, getting down in the front row, doing the Roger Daltrey mic spinning etc. It was terrific.

St Vincent utterly blew me away on every level. Art rock spectacle, vocal and guitar chops, throwing herself around the floor, Devo stage routine, drum solo (!)and crowd surfing! Plus the most beautiful goth alien witch you've ever seen laying down thunderous basslines.

Crashed for most of Sunday. Back to work and an evening band practice on Monday.

Our weekend started with Thanksgiving with Carol's family. It was nice to get together with everyone. Friday was open mic night and the Professor showed up with his banjo. He got an easy-to-install pickup for it. I also got a call front the assisted living center I played at on Wednesday; they want to book me again for December.

Saturday morning we went to a couple of craft fairs, then took it easy. I also found out the medicine I needed for this morning was shipped to Jamestown, Rhode Island by mistake. I had it shipped there last month when we were on vacation; they seemed to think it was a permanent change.

Sunday morning I was the worship leader at church, so I got to play minister again. It was the first time I was physically able to do it since I began treatment. After church I headed for Jamestown; a drive of about two hours. I picked up the package, had lunch, then headed home.

My weekend ran from Thanksgiving through Monday. I'll just relate two highlights.

Turkey Thursday was spent with my wife, her sister, all her sister's children and grandchildren in Denver. Fantastic food and fun games after the meal.

Monday Night Football was a shootout. Jameis Winston set a Browns franchise record passing for 457 yards! But, he threw two pick sixes. Fortunately, for my Broncos, they won 41 to 32. Bo Nix passed for 294 yards but threw two interceptions. It was not exactly a pretty win. Still, it was exciting.

Mrs. T decided roasting a chicken with carrots, celery and potatoes would be a nice break. It was delicious!
We enjoyed just hanging out and relaxing most of the weekend.
Thursday, I rode to and back from our annual cyclocross fun race. I can no longer compete, but I like supporting my long time friends. I took Ruby along and she loved it.

Thanksgiving at our friends. We were introduced to some new people as their OLDEST friends :giveup::old:
Rode Friday and Sunday, back isn't good so it might be a mistake but it doesn't seem to make it worse so
We got the turkey carcass so the boss made Turkey Dahl soup that was killer!
