Walter Becker Flipping Book

I would pay a bit of a premium. Maybe 20% if there was something I needed or really wanted. Most of those axes seem like endorsement swag. So he probably never played them. The best stuff should get out of range. But you never know.

True story... for years I would go to my friend's house in Valley Village (in LA) for sessions in his studio above his garage, probably since the late 80's, my friend only recently told me that Walter Becker had rented the apartment over his house for 10 of those years. He probably heard me play on many occasions. Glad I didn't know it at the time. Walter for most of the year lived in Hawaii, but needed a place to crash when in town. The reason he chose my friend's place was because his next door neighbor was Dean Parks, one of Walter's best friends.

Wow! I see a few things I'd like to have but I can't imagine them going for the amounts listed -- they'd sell in heartbeat on Reverb at some of those price ranges even without the Walter Becker connection.

I really liked the variety. Not just 50 Strats and 25 Deluxe Reverbs. Looks like he kept trying new gear too.

A shit ton of gear, very little which would be of interest to me

Apart from his pedals

That is the single greatest guitar gear collection I've ever seen.

He really liked the quirky, early electric guitar vibe, didn't he? All those cool little combo amps and those recreations of the Merle Travis Paul Bigsby guitars stick out.
