Vintage vs. Sire

Too Controversial To Have An Athleisure Line
I'm looking to get an LP-style goldtop with P90s. I don't want a Gibson or Epiphone. I really want a Tokai, but they're impossible to find in the US and too expensive to import. So I'm thinking either Sire or Vintage. Anyone have any experience with either one or both?

I have a Sire H7 (335 type). I ordered it from Sweetwater for $650. They’re more expensive now. It took about 6 months for it to arrive. Mine looks just like the pics below.

On the plus side, it has rolled edges which I find comfortable. It stays in tune well. I like the pickups and the overall sound.

The neck width at the nut feels a bit more narrow than a real 335 but I’ve gotten used to it. There’s an annoying ping to the high E that could indicate the nut slot was cut too low.

Overall, it’s not a bad guitar for the price. But, it does not play as well as any of my 3 Gibson guitars. I would say the quality is probably on par with some similarly priced Epiphone or Squire guitars.

I like the look and specs of the Vintage guitars far more than anything from Sire. There's nothing that really appeals to me from Sire...except maybe their Godin A4 fretless copy. And even that I just found out they charge $100 for NOT putting in frets and inlays...I'd just get the fretted and give it the Jaco treatment. Wish they put a Jazz-style neck on it though...

I have a blueburst Sire LP. Great guitar. It's really well made. It may be less expensive to order from Thomann and have it shipped from Germany. That was the case for me. I got it in 3 business days.
