We are very excited to announce that USA Custom Guitars is now part of the MJT Guitars/MJT Aged Finishes family of companies. Over the coming weeks, everything will be moved from the Pacific Northwest to the good ol’ Midwest where we will once again become operational. An announcement will be made on the future of the Custom Shop and the Inventory availability in the coming weeks. We have enjoyed being part of the guitar community for 20 years and thrilled to hand this off to the great team at MJT. You can email the MJT guys with any questions at mjt@mjtagedfinishes.com

I wonder if they're going to retain all of USAGCs profiles & options. The neck I got from them for my JM is easily one of my all time favorites.

I’m not sure I’ve heard of either company.

Both huge in the DIY side of things.

USACG was started by a former Warmoth employee and, for a while, surpassed Warmoth as the flavor of the month for bodies and necks. They would do custom neck profiles and options like dropoff, but kept streamlined by only offering a few wood options. Then began a slow, gradual decline...backlogs...a contentious sale...in fighting...etc.

Mark Jenny has been the major relic finisher for the DIY crowd for 15+ years now.

See what happens when you start a guitar custom shop on Warmoth's door step?

IIRC the guy who started up USACG, Tommy, used to be part of Warmoth. The actual USACG company was owned by his Dad, who sold the company to a third party who has now sold it to MJT.
