Two guitars I didn't buy today

Jim Soloway

This was being blown out by Warmoth. Great price, right configuration, right weight. My credit card sat on my desk all day while I was dithering. Apparently I dithered too long and it sold before I cold make a decision.

This one I had open in my browser since Saturday. in the end I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on a 9 lb guitar no matter how cool the guitar or ow good the price.

Heh. I didn't buy that either. The Warmoth blowout is testing my self control.

What kind of bridge were you imagining on it?

Apparently not meant to be.

I'm trying to not look at stuff I know I want since I've already gotten two new guitars in the last month

That's real nice looking.

I know you might have different opinions as an true blue luthier, but an opinion all the same...

I don't think I could deal with a bolt on LP. I'm not a real traditionalist person. I'm totally cool and into stuff that strays from the pack. I know there were alot of great MIJ LP copies with bolt on necks.

I just cant see myself buying or using one. I hate the idea. It's just wrong, in a sense that nothing else is in the guitar world, to me at least.

Really simple answer to this one ... first the body is not really a LP. It's bigger and it's a slab with no carved top. Second, (and this one will also answer USian Pie's question), the way to make it work is to take it as far from a Les Paul as possible. My plan was to configure it with a neck pickup only, a 25.5" scale length, and then dress it pretty much like this one (minus the control panel). With that bridge, a flat tortoise guard, and only one pickup, it's not going to have much Les Paul left in it.

Beautiful bod.

I happen to have a keyboard, Yamaha DGX 640, arriving tomorrow. That's a first for me. I don't even know how to play one.

That's GAS my friend.

GAS with 0% for 12 months

This one they posted to FB caught my eye even though it's not something I'd normally be interested in

The split JM is still calling my name but I don't want a project right now.thwap0
