....as in hot. Damn hot.

Currently 100 degrees in Denver and climbing. Record high for the day. If I wantedx weather this hot I'd move to NM or AZ....

And it's only late June. June is usually just a bit warm in Denver, and July - August are the hot months. Not this year. Once this heat wave passes (Saturday) we will have had 10 days over 90 for the month. 1 day is normal. And as dry as the winter was where I live (Colorado Springs), a nasty wild fire is only a matter of time.

Last week in Santa Barbara was soooooo nice......

How hot is it out your way?

Been pretty moderate here in the DC area so far this spring/summer. Maybe a bit more rainfall than normal, but we're supposed to be well into the mid 90's by the weekend. A/C went back on yesterday.

100 degrees here too. July and August is usually monsoon season and you get some afternoon rain to cool everything down, but for months we've had fuck-all for rain and I'm not optimistic.

We've had 27 days over 100 degrees since may 29th and 19 of those days were 104 degrees or hotter :embarrassed:

On tuesday i did lower ball joints, right side upper control arm on a 2006 Ford Fx4 150 .....on the concrete in the sun between 1:embarrassed:0pm and 4:embarrassed:0 pm ...it was toasty : o

it was nasty hot the weekend before last, and it's going to be again tomorrow and Sat. bleh.

upper 90s in the midwest (ie NOT a dry heat) is just gross.

Very weird summer over here. Hot and very dry, which is extremely rare. Major forest fire hazard here now. Barely any rain for about 7-8 weeks which NEVER happens over here. How some of you cope with this sort of weather every year beats me...:embarrassed:

It’s a dry heat

We’re going to get 8 or 9 days of “special weather event” in the form of high heat and humidity.
High 80 to low 90s but with the humidity, it will feel like something in the mid 100s.

It’s either 90% Humidity and 95+/- deg or raining and 85 deg +/-.
Rainfall has been adequate, probably a bit above average for June.
Pretty nice month as June goes for us. As long as we don’t fall into a long drought our summer looks good so far.

The heat alone wouldn’t bother me. It’s the way the heat makes the sun seem so brutal. There’s something about being a mile up that makes the sun seem oppressive. Being in Colorado on a hot day is like being near the mediterranean.

I am so sick and tired of my nut sack over heating and sticking to my thighs. Seriously. I am this close to buying some posing pouches and throwing them in the freezer.

Mid-90s here the last couple of days but with the high humidity the heat index has been around 105.

You can say dry heat all you want, but I was out in Las Vegas on a TDY one summer...I believe it was the summer that the Clint Eastwood movie 'Unforgiven' came out...90s the day we got there, and two straight weeks of close to 110+ temps, then the last day we were there, high 90s again.

I don't care if it IS dry, 110+ is darned HOT. And for 2 weeks straight. Then try working out in it on a tarmac (blacktop) with F-15 and F-16 exhaust blowing on you as you are loading your own aircraft :(

edit: I tried googling 'heat wave 1992 Las Vegas' and all I could find was an article from 2008 that mentioned breaking the high temperature records of 1992 in Las Vegas. It may have been '91, but I'm almost positive it was '92 because I remember taking a bus to a movie theater in Vegas to watch Unforgiven, and the closest the bus came to the theater was like 2 blocks away, so I had to walk 2 blocks in the searing heat to the theater. I was gulping down water from the drinking fountain for about a minute.

Cleveland Ohio hasn't had too many hot days until this weekend. Low 90's, humidity around %60 percent. Seems like we've had a fair amount of rain so far this spring/summer.

We are having a heat wave, with temps today at 92. Humidity is low, so it is bearable, but it isn't pleasant.

I can't imagine the heat some of you experience. I hated Florida for that reason, and it isn't anywhere near as bad as the Southwest.

Here...this was in the funny pic thread, but it seems to fit here better.
