Gig Report: Those little knock-off GoPro cameras finally showd up so I invited my buddy over to record us jamming on a tune and film with the three camera to edit

So I have wanted to learn how to edit multi-camera video with audio recorded through my DAW for a while now. I wanted to do it for that REMnant show (sans the DAW audio) but the cameras didn't show up in time. Well they are finally here so my buddy Preston came over and I set up a few mics to record us playing as well as the three cameras. We were just messing around so there are some duff notes, but I think it turned out pretty good... I was playing bass most of the time and facing the other way on teh bench but for this tune I did piano, which is why my back is to the camera. We recorded a couple hours' worth of us jamming and this was the best song so it's the one I cut out to edit. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro!

 
We are both on the tall side, yes. I am 6'6" and he's not far behind me.

The wide angle is actually the Zoom video recorder. It kind of fish-eyes the room so that it looks much bigger than it actually is. If it weren't for the high quality mics on the Zoom I think i'd just get another of these knockoff camera and just use those to record shows. The zoom also has to be plugged into the wall whereas the fake GoPros take rechargeable batteries, and they both ran for nearly two hours before the batteries gave out. (the Zoom takes AAs but goes through a brand new pair in about 30 minutes on the high quality setting so it needs to be plugged into the wall to capture a full show)
 
Nice! I really like the vibe. And I think the cameras worked quite well. On this, the guitar was through the amp and mic’d, it looks like, but what speakers or amp is creating the piano sound? And what cool little keyboard is that?

Thanks! The keyboard is a Nord Electro 5D (61 key) and I got it going directly into the Tascam audio interface (which you can see in the gear rack behind me, but the keyboard is plugged into the back because I just always leave it hooked up). I had it playing through the monitors on my desk so we could hear it in the room, if we were doing a more serious recording we probably would be using headphones to minimize bleed.

Looks like the price went up $20 since I got mine earlier this month...

I am thinking about just getting a better audio recorder for live sound and another of the little cameras. I never thought the Zoom video was all that good.
