This is tempting me...

...but I don't know much about these Samicks. It looks like they were making a budget line of guitars for Valley Arts at some point? Does anyone know what's up with that "Interlock heel" neck joint?

One on hand, it’s almost certainly not terrible for $300.

On the other, a Yamaha superstrat of similar vintage is probably a safer bet in that price range.

Yeah, after doing a bit of Googling, these Valley Arts by Samick were not of the highest quality...and that neck joint just looks iffy to me. My search for a good, cheap, floyd-equipped super strat continues.

The only Samick I have ever played, belonged to the other guitar player in one of my old bands. It wasn't anything to write home about. My MIM Tele was better and he always wanted to borrow it for gigs so he didn't have to play the Samick.

Samick are the textbook definition of generic. A Korean builder that makes decent guitars for the money. I have played 5 or 6 and none of them ever ever made me want to own them.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that there is no better bang for the buck and beautiful SuperStrat on the market than the Adrian Smith Signature Model Jackson. I couldn't even name 5 songs the dude plays on, but these guitars are INSANE. I have been very tempted myself since the first time I picked one up and played it. They are only $499 Brand new, and they are all over Reverb for well under $400. Anything else in that range is an also ran.

This Indonesian Jackson is on my local CL. Not a huge fan of the middle pickup or the shark fin inlays, but I may have to check it out.

THIS ONE!!!!
Yup. I've picked up quite a few of them at shops and they were consistently awesome and gorgeous. I seriously GAS for one but can't justify the purchase. If I didn't have the Fender Showmaster (oh snap! Another great contender for the OP to consider) that I bought from @micwalt, I'd already have one.
