Thinking about buying one of these snow clearing devices

What do you think? Should I do it?

Do you want icy sidewalks and driveways..

Because that’s how you get icy sidewalks and driveways.

Unless you can raise the temperature of the pavement, you’ll be making water that will just refreeze.
Usually, very quickly.

Heat it until the water evaporates

We had a 'flamethrower' when I was a kid. It was a device that attached to a propane tank, like the kind you use with a gas grill. It had straps so you could strap the tank on your back and we used it to burn brush that grew along the wall of our pond.

Sounds like a great kid's toy. But seriously, when you have a pond you pretty need a flamethrower.

As others have said, it'll just create ice.

I tried to thaw ice a few weeks ago with a weed torch which is essentially the same thing as that and it was useless.

You could just move to Louisiana. It might snow once every few years. It’s usually not enough to build a snowman and everything shuts down, which makes for a nice few days of day drinking.

Hurricane season isn’t that long and when your house floods you get to get a new one. Might need the torch anyway to deal with the insurance adjusters though.

And the foods good.

The snow here is usually dry powder and not very deep, so I just get it with a shovel. I do have an electric snowblower for bad storms. But I haven’t used it in two years.

As a queer person, I tend to avoid the southeast states. Between the gators, snakes, and rednecks there are too many things that could kill me down there.

Apparently a number of people have found themselves in legal trouble with The Boring Co "Not A Flamethrower" device.
Depending on the gun laws where you live, it can be classified as some kind of WMD, etc.

I'd recommend a snow shovel and/or robot butler.

Fair enough.

FWIW, New Orleans is about as queer friendly as a city can be.
