There are a few Smithereens fans here, right?

I saw them at the 8x10 club, a small venue, just as they were starting to get radio play. It was a great show!

Love Blues Before and After and A Girl Like You. Their more pop oriented stuff, not so much.

I always dug their sound, but I never delved into anything beyond the radio hits.

I had the album, Green Thoughts. I used to play a few of the songs from that album.

After Pat DiNizio died, Marshall Crenshaw and Robin Wilson (The Gin Blossoms) took turns fronting the band. In 2025, they’re touring with John Cowsill (The Cowsills) or Robin Wilson as lead singer, depending on the gig.

It must be really tragic......

... I mean those poor groupies....

... back stage....

... they were blown to smithereens.

Power pop trivia time: John Cowsill is married to Vicky Peterson from The Bangles, and he was the drummer on Tommy Tutone's '867-5309/Jenny'.

I've enjoyed a wide variety of their music, including their cover album of Meet The Beatles.
