I don't know why the place is littered with pancake houses, but there it is. Our Pancake House of choice was the Colonial House of Pancakes because it was next door to our Motel.

In other news, Busch Gardens is a beautiful park, but when it's 106 and humid, it's too spread out to get to the 6 rides that are worth a damn. I saw five people pass out.

Fat people in a water park have no shame. They just walk around with all their fatness hanging out of their bathing suits.

A six foot deep pool, when exposed to a Virginia summer, will rise to a toasty 85 degrees.

Hog Wild's Smokehouse in Toano, VA is some of the best BBQ I've ever had.

It is possible to sweat on a water ride.

Apollo's Chariot is the best coaster at Busch Gardens. The Gryffon is next.

West Virginia is a beautiful state. Especially the New River Gorge area.

If you're the drummer in a colonial drum and fife team and you're hired to play in front of a touristy gift shop in 100 plus degree weather, I can understand if you don't smile.

This weekend... after we were done at the bar, but before we went home.... stopped at a diner for the 3 am breakfast specials....

... I had an omlette with (besides eggs) Cheese, Sausage, Onions, Meatballs, Spaghetti Sauce, and Jalapenos. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of it.

I loved my long ago trip to Colonial Williamsburg, but it was way too fucking hot in August. I'd like to go back in the fall when all the leaves are changing....

The wife and I went to Williamsburg once. Now that you mention it, there were a lot of pancake houses. We were underwhelmed by the Colonial area - a bunch of imported junk sold in old buildings. I guess I was spoiled by Old Sturbridge Village.
