What was started as kind of a tongue in cheek thread to hopefully remind folks that I'm not too fond of the minority of you carrying on your GJ bullshit here with personal attacks and thread derailments about things that don't matter to the OP has turned into a blackhole of bullshit that is apparently stopping traffic on the rest of the site.
We've had a ton of new people sign up here in the last month but if you guys turn every thread into an Uma vs JJ-style tastemanship duel or constant bickering across other peoples threads then they'll find someplace else to hang out. I don't run this place so that two or three of you can continue to play out your Guitar Jam personas and turn my forum into the same kind of bullshit that was occasionally entertaining there but also caused a large exodus of regulars out of that forum. To places like here for instance. The vast majority of the forum respects my wishes. Oscar and Kerouac please cut it the fuck out. Without you two bickering at each other none of the rest of this shit would happen. At this point I don't care if you're a friend of mine "in real life" or a daily poster of almost a half a decade. If I need to bring this up again then people are going to be gone. And as far as I know, Guitar Jam does still exist if you want to shit on each someplace else. Just don't do it here.

For the record, I have no actual beef with JJ. I am confident that his real life persona is as likeable as has been reported by the many folks who've spent time with him.

Appreciated. Honestly I'm friends with everyone here in one way or another but I think when people start acting in the GJ "personas" or shticks it gets everyone else wound up. I had a lot of fun at Guitar Jam for a long time but I really don't want the trolling and whatnot going on here. I want this site to grow and if it continues to be an inland of in-jokes and trolling it won't.

I saw it late. I tried to delete my post but you were quick on the trigger. I really don't think I'm doing anything so vile and wrong. I get attacked for bringing up guitarists that people here aren't familiar with (as if that was a huge crime against humanity because learning is evil), or having a differing opinion. I respect your forum and I will put a sock in it from now on.
By the way, Scott Henderson is on next week so I'd like you to call in to the show again and ask fascinating questions. Also I apologize to the people here who consider themselves guitarists and don't know who Scott Henderson is.

I'm thinking that no one will be attacked for discussing guitarists of any flavor from now on. I just want a mellow place where folks can shoot the shit about guitars or music or lunch or whatever. And none of you guys see the PM's that start flooding my inbox here when this stuff starts happening. There is a sizable portion of this forum who were members at HC that never posted there or just plain left over the last few years. And some of the feedback I've gotten this week is that I'll start losing those folks if the atmosphere here turns into Guitar Jam 2.0
And I'd love to call Scott Henderson. I actually own several of his albums...
