Only if you have staggered height polepieces. If you've got flat polepieces, you can use the regular gauges.

It's not the heat. It's the wavelength of the light that doesn't get reflected. The strings have to absorb that. It makes them heavy. Then, they pull out of tune.

Meanwhile I'm putting lollars in my Squier Affinity strat and I've ordered some handwound strings from a secretive colony of Venezuelan master craftswomen who use tempered steel smelted from iron ore harvested exclusively from meteorites, which it is said will finally keep my cowboy chords in tune.

And I'm doing a kickstarter project to finally 3D print a perfect Centaur clone.

I agree. Mayer claims that there isn't that much difference in various pickups, yet the miniscule difference in the G string gauge made all the difference in the world...plus talk about how cavities were positioned differently, etc...whatever.
