I don't know that Bishop would have played much better. That said right now SJ has the same problem as Tampa, not enough net pressure. The Pens get a lot of shots but surprisingly don't seem to be winning easily as the shot total would suggest. Murray may be a good goalie but it is really kind of hard to tell given the work load he gets. He looked shaky at times late in the 3rd last night and I wasn't sure if it was just lack of work. The Pens have been dominating possession and getting shots though from the scores of this series and the last it seems not a lot of grade A chances.

Still they have been by far the better team. SJ was the best road team in the regular season but have not been as good in the playoffs but have been much better at home in the playoffs then the regular season. I'm hoping they can win both so we will have a barnburner of a final but if they lose Sat it might be over in 4.

DeBoer is off to the same start as he did with the Devils. Back then no one expect the Devils to even be there let alone challenge LA who were dominating that year. He has managed to get both his playoff teams to the final but so far is 2-6 not a great record. They lost the 1st 2 against LA as well and they were also close games so we'll see if he can rally his troops
 
Sharks definitely have to pressure the net. Most NHL goalies will stop what yhey can see 98% of the time.
 
I don't know where all you dudes are from but here in Canada all I'm hearing today on the sports shows is about the dude from SJ calling Sid a face off cheat..


Hello? That's the name of the game....The word 'cheat' was used on purpose to try and rile things up which in itself is a form of cheat..

It's actually called getting one up on or getting a leg up on....Every center does it...

Every single sportscaster I watched today said that Sid dominated,period...

I read about that, and it does smack of being a bad-loser.

That being said, Sid has a history of some questionable shit.......(I know you're a huge fan, but he's not from my hometown, so......)

But, he's gonna have another etching on the Cup unless someone learns how to "un-cheat" him or "cheat" better than he does.

Not a Crosby fan, but his playing lately has been on another level.

How is he supposedly cheating on the face offs? Things look fine to me :shrug:

If you know anything about hockey you just agree and move on. Same thing happened when Tampa played Montreal 2 years ago...Bishop went out and Montreal won. Last year Bishop didn't get injured and Tampa beat Montreal.
 
You obviously have a much better memory on this issue than I do but chances are the best goalie in the world(Price),had a big part in both points you're making..

Uh...no.

Furthermore, Braden Holtby is the best goalie in the world.

Price was, without question, but after an injury which kept him out this long...he will have to reassert himself. Since I don't know the extent of the injury I won't speculate.

...but then Bishop had a groin in the Cup final, and was operating at less-than-optimum.

My son played center. I know he's my kid, and I'm proud of him, but he was (and still is) a face off master. He knew all the tricks. It's not cheating. He used to have this one move in our zone where he'd let the othe guy think he'd won the face off back to his defensemen, and then hit his stick and the puck so the puck would squirt out to center ice while he was skating full speed out for a break away. That worked up to about the Atome level, but not much past that.
 
Hertl is out for the Sharkies. He's been one of their better players the last few weeks. Making a hard job harder.
